FOV = 37.8 x 26.6 arc minutes

M27 is only 1,250 light years away. The gaseous material you see was blown away from a blue dwarf star nearly 48,000 years ago. UV radiation from the central star continues to excite the surrounding ionized oxygen (teal color) and hydrogen (red color).
